10 Year Class Reunion (class of '99)

I can't believe it has been ten years since high school. Many of my friends are just like me, done with college and now have a husband and some kids. A few of them are recently married and so they don't have kids but, the majority were married and had at least 2 kids. It was really great to get to see so many people that had moved away right after high school. Some came from as far away as Washington State and Colorado. The reunion started with a dinner for the adults. It was fun to get to chat but, we left before the Karaoke started. I am not much of a karaoke fan. The next morning was a golf tournament. It was just nine holes but, with a few catches. One hole you had to golf Happy gilmore style and another you had to use your putter like a cue stick to putt. There was also a hole that was a contest for the longest mens and women's drive.
Here's Reed showing off his MAD golfing skills. You did really good...I should take some pointers from you!!
I couldn't believe it but, on the longest drive, I won the Women's prize. I haven't golfed in over 5 years. Reed says I'm a natural but, I think he says that to get some brownie points. The prize was a gift card and a bucket of candy and popcorn for a movie night. Fun prize! I still can't believe I won the longest drive. Hah, maybe I have a new career coming. LOL
Here's me putting with my cue stick. Neadless to say, I didn't make it on the first try. It's really harder than it looks!
At the family picnic, they had facepainting for the kids. Abbie wanted a rainbow and Kaden wanted a BLUE star. Isaac wanted nothing to do with it and spent most of the time at the park playing on the equipment. Abbie showing me how high she got on the octagon shaped dome. What is that thing really called anyway? Isaac and Abbie with their new friend (son of a friend of mine) climbing the ropes.
Kaden and his BLUE star. He was really excited to have his face painted. Who knew? I would have guessed Isaac would want his face painted and Kaden not but, I was wrong. I guess they will always keep me on my toes. Once you think you have them figured out, they will change just to mess you up. LOL
Isaac showing me how he could climb up high and then have "NO HANDS!". That is funny because I remember doing the exact thing to my mom. Look mom, no hands...then some unfun things happen. But, that story is for another time.
I am really glad that Reed and the kids came with me to my reunion. It was great to catch up with people and see how everyone has changed or NOT changed at all. Thanks to all those that stepped up to the plate to put on a great reunion. Good job!!
Cassy Final

  2. Good job on your golfing skills! That's awesome. Did you go to Reed's 15 year reunion, or was it the same weekend? I'm feeling bad we missed if for John...
