Abbie's first dance recital

Abbie had her first christmas dance recital. They did two numbers. One was a Rudolph the reindeer song and the other is a Hawaiian Christmas. Abbie did SOOO good and it was so much fun to watch her perform. She really did a good job. Grandma Tenney, Aunt Maren, and Aunt Jennie and Rian came to support her. I am sure it will be the first of many. SO CUTE!!As you will notice..she is not wearing reindeer antlers. That really didn't surprise me since she gets shy about that kind of stuff. We love you Abbie and were so excited to get to see all the things you have been learning in dance class. The reindeer number is a tap dance number. The Hawaiian Christmas song is more ballet and creative movement. I will post the reindeer number...ENJOY!!

Isaac's Six

Isaac was so funny about his birthday cake. He wanted a chocolate cake but, not just any chocolate cake. He wanted an extra chocolatey cake with chocolate icing. The only thing not on the cake that is chocolate is the green sprinkles because they are his favorite color. Just remember...you can always have whatever cake you want on your birthday!! I love how independent and enthusiastic you are. Just always stay that way!!! We love ya!! I can't believe it but my baby is now six years old. He is in Kindergarten and love its a lot. Everyday he comes home and tells me all the fun stuff he did. I hope the enthusiasm for school always continues. Isaac loves riding bikes, scooters, anything that goes fast! He got a light saber that changes color from green to red and all he kept saying is that now he had a light saber just like Ian (his cousin that just turned 8). And he continued to tell us "In just two more numbers, I'll be able to be baptised, just like Ian." It just makes me smile to think that he is that excited to get baptised. I love you Isaac and your dad is just as proud of you as I am. We love you so much. All the luck for a great next year!! Have a great year being six!!

Oh My

I dragged Reed to a Boutique yesterday.(One of only a few brave men there) I was tired of doing projects and just wanted to get out. We both had the day off and we went to this boutique in Bountiful for fun. I found some of the best ideas ever. If you have ever wanted great ideas...here's a few websites that are really great. ENJOY! These flowers were cute and I put them on hats for the picture. They are just on a clip to go in a girl's hair. I love how they are layered with seven layers. Crazy...but oh, so cute. This website has stores but, their thing is to have cute clothes for cheap...you may have seen their commercials. Cute stuff, and pretty affordable. www.chicboutiquestyle.com www.myquiltergirl.com www.fingersandtoes08.blogspot.com This booth had the yummiest cupcakes I've ever seen. There was even a whole bakers dozen of twilight themed cupcakes...so fun. www.thesweettoothfairy.com This one has the best baby slings...so trendy! www.modmum.com This next website makes stuff to keep kids entertained at church, like magnet boars, puzzles, games and more. Good ideas. www.tikakids.com This is my new latest and greatest find. I didn't find this one at the boutique but, it's my new fun place to go to look around and find new interesting items. They have antique windows, doors and a whole bunch of other stuff. I don't know how good their website is but, the place is a treasure hunt. www.georgessalvage.com These are baby covers for the carseat. I don't need these but they were sure cute. www.eletent.com www.hushboutique.etsy.com the next website makes handmade baby booties... www.curious-workmanship.com www.mcardsandservice.com www.fleurdelisaccessories.com www.speakwithmebooks.com www.emilyjanephotography.com This next photographer is my new fav....Maybe someday! www.julieparkerphotography.com SO, if you are ever bored...check out some of these, the stuff they had at their booths were so cute. I ended up only buying a few stocking stuffers but, came home with lots of ideas.

Grand Junction

This weekend I went to visit my sister, Nichole. Isaac is off track right now and I am taking advantage of the freedom. Him being the oldest, it's been an adjustment being tied down with him in school. I am so glad he loves it so much. My sister had a UpperCase living party and it was so fun. I got a vinyl for Abbie's room that I have been wanting for a while. So cute!! While we were together we did our "NOEL" letters. We had purchased them the last "sister's outing" we had and we decided to take the time to do them together. It's amazing that we can have the exact same set and they turn out so different. They are both sooooo cute!! I am posting mine...Nichole post yours as soon as you finish. I want to see the finished product.

Projects

It's not even Christmas and it feels like I am running a million miles a minute. I am working on parents, family and friends gifts. I want to be able to enjoy the month of December but, we'll see. I will probably find things to do then too but, the hope is to enjoy this wonderful time of year. I feel like I have been doing so much but, don't have anything to blog about because it would ruin the surprise. I would really love to show everyone how cute they are turning out but, you'll have to wait and see for Christmas. I am really excited about some of them and I just had to blog about how fun it is even though I can't post pictures. I just picked up a really awesome chair and it is exactly the one I have been looking for, for about two years now. Thanks Shellie for showing me your gorgeous chair, I have wanted one like it ever since, so when I found it...it was love at first sight. Of course, I will have to reupholster it so, I am on the look out for the perfect fabric. I hope it's out there waiting for me....on sale...no less. Hee Hee Well, onto some more fun!!

HALLOWEEN

Can I just say I LOVE Halloween!!! It is such a great time of year...I love the crisp weather, the fall leaves, and all the fun with family! This year the kids were a theme, probably the last year I'll get them to do that, and it was really cute. Isaac was a Knight...Abbie was the princess...and Kaden was supposed to be the dragon but, once he saw that Isaac was a Knight, that's what he wanted to be. So, I have 2 Knights to protect the princess. It was really cute. Our new neighborhood was fantastic for Trick-or-Treating. It was so much fun to see all the neighbors, the kids had a great time, and we even got to go to some spooky houses. The kids weren't fazed at all by the scary ones. Yeah, no crying children. Most of the houses were decorated so darling with one house having amazing carved pumpkins. That's the other thing we did yesterday, we took the pumpkins that we grew in our garden and carved them. Reed did two since we had so many pumpkins. The kids did a great job. Abbie carved a ghost, Kaden wanted a cat, and Isaac did an amazing dragon. He wanted a dragon because he had one on his Knight costume. Isaac, you did a great job, and Reed had to help him only a little bit. After we had gone trick-or-treating for a little bit, Jennie, John and Rian caught up with us and we finished the last few houses. We then watched the old movie Arsenic and old Lace. It was fun to see an old Halloween Movie. Then the kids went to bed...when we went to tuck Abbie into bed her candy bucket was in the bed next to her. We had to convince her that the best place would be on the table in her room. So cute...I am sure they dreamed of candy all night. They loved Halloween and I hope they always love it as much as I do.

Boy has it been a little while since I blogged!!

Well, it's sorta been busy at our house. We got some sad news that my grandmother had passed away. We were all saddened about that and then had to plan for the funeral. So, we've been up to Idaho last week. I am so glad that she didn't have to suffer and that she went peacefully in her sleep. That's how I want to go peacefully. Well, it was really nice to see family and catch up with the ones from out of state. I'll miss you grandma!! The other reason we have been so busy is because Reed and I had deer tags. Reed's sister Maren was gracious enough to come and stay with the kids. They just loved drawing, having movie time, and playing games. Maren...you're the best aunt. We were able to go up for two days. We saw some but didn't get one. Reed and Tait went the next weekend and Tait got a two point. Reed almost got a three point but I had clearly told him if he wasn't home in time for our Halloween party.....(dot dot dot). So, he didn't shoot it. Reed and I got ours last year so it seems appropriate that Tait was the only one that got one this year. Next year...let's go three for three. Hee Hee Well, I am glad that everyone had safe hunt this year. Well, I guess that is what is happening lately. Love hearing what everyone is doing on their blogs.

Abbie's Dresser

My goal for the next month is finishing Abbie's bedroom. Her bedroom has needed painting since we moved in and we finally bought paint on the labor day sale but, still didn't get her room painted until last week. We next turned to doing Abbie's dresser. She helped me to paint her dresser. She picked the color and I love how the stripes turned out. It's not perfect but, when we are all learning...it's never perfect at first. Abbie helped me sand it, paint it then stripe it in the lighter pink color. She loved hanging out with mom and I will definetely have her be my little helper anytime.

My new favorite Chair

I finished my chair and it is definetely one of my new favorites. I reupholstered it in microfiber and then made a throw pillow in a damask print. I just love how it turned out!! Not everyone of my ideas worked but, this one seems to work out beautifully. Isaac is so funny because now that he is getting "easy readers" from school and I had just finished my chair he says the next chair I do should be his reading chair or bench...of course, the color he is choosing is green. So, I am on the look out for a cozy green reading chair for his room. It's kinda funny because he pulls me into his room and shows me exactly where it should go and he's right it is the perfect corner to put a cozy reading chair. Good Job, Isaac. Well, I forgot to take a picture of the chair when it was covered in the faded material...so I am including one that is when I was in the middle of the process. ENJOY!!

Isaac rides his bike without training wheels

Well, it's official....Isaac rode his bike without training wheels this week. He hasn't ridden his bike all summer because the training wheel broke. This is the second set (after the second set broke...mind you, they were all metal...so when they broke...we gave up) and we haven't gotten around to getting more. Abbie wanted to ride Isaac's scooter so Reed grabbed his bike and off he went. It was like he has ridden his bike all summer. We were so stunned that he would just take off but he is kinda like that. He can just pick up something new and just go. We just love that about you Isaac...you are so versatile. Love ya!!

Farmington Canyon Picnic

Farmington Canyon Picnic

On monday we went up Farmington Canyon for our annual "see the fall colors" drive. We always take a picnic and have a wonderful time. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There is one picture of kaden where he looks like a racoon because he picked up a rock dovered in dirt and then rubbed his face. It is cute but, I can't post every picture. This year we took up the bench (the one I finished a few weeks ago and blogged about) and sat on it while we sat the camera on the hood of the truck and took family pictures. It was so pretty up there and there is one road...the one with the picture...where the aspens cover over top of the road. That is my favorite part of the road. I am glad that we have made this a family tradition.

Our baby Girl is growing up!!

This week Reed and I realized how tall Abbie is getting. All of her pants..now that it's fall...are too short. Where did the time go? She is already three and is looking more and more like a little girl instead of our little baby!! :(

Our handsome boys!!

These are my handsome little boys!! These pictures were taken at the farm by our house. I love the one with Kaden out in the field in his favorite chair. The kids had such a good time at the farm...and there was lots of places to take pictures.

The bench is finished!!!!

Reed and I finally finished our bench. I had to do the upholstery so...I was holding the project up until I got that done. Reed was the craftsman that helped me build it..he had some really great ideas. If you can't tell....the seat is made out of an antique door. I included a picture of the key holes so you would believe me. We had to shorten the door and Reed definetely was in charge of how we were going to do that. He always has great ideas...yes everyone...he is the brains behind a lot of projects...not just the work horse. The creative ideas....I guess I can still take credit for some of those.

Kaden and Isaac

It seems that when you want to take pictures of all your kids...that one usually is more enthusiastic than the others. For me...Kaden took some great photos at the nature park. I love this picture of Isaac too.

Nature Park

Last night for family night we stayed close to home but went on a walk at the nature park by our house. It was fun and the kids loved watching the birds come in to land on the pond. It's a nature conservancy park and so there is lots of wildlife...mostly birds. Here are a few pictures of our family time.
