Little Tid Bits Of Our Life

Have you ever as a mom had a lightbulb moment about one of your kids? I did...just today. I just figured out that my youngest, Kaden doesn't like sweet treats. This doesn't mean that he won't eat them...I just always thought he was littler than the others and just wouldn't eat all of his snacks. It wasn't until after soccer tonight that I had my brilliant lightbulb moment. Earlier today I noticed that he drank half of his fruit smoothie (all fruit with yogurt and ice) and thought that was a little strange but, he was off playing with Abbie and I didn't think twice about it until now. This picture above is his snack after soccer. What kid doesn't eat all his cookies? Especially when there's only a few in the small kid bag and they just spent an hour running and working up an appetite. Abbie ate every one of her cookies...then it all came together. Everything just came together and all the dots connected....and I start to think.....yesterday for an after school snack he wanted crackers. He's had a sucker for over a week, waiting for the perfect time to eat it. He LOVES plain, crinckle potato chips over any other potato chip. Wow, a kids that likes salty/savory over sweet.  To think he's four and I just figured out what he prefers or maybe he's just figuring that out....who knows, maybe I just haven't paid enough attention. So, here's to being super sluth mom detective and realizing that my little boy would like something just a little different than the other two and will choose salty/savory over sweet. I think it's fine he likes that but, I feel a little silly I just realized that and he's four!

I am really excited for Halloween and happened to be in a store yesterday that sold some Halloween items. Abbie and Kaden found these LED light eyeball balls. When they bounce, the eye lights up in a whole rainbow of colors at different speeds. They would bounce and catch them as they walked around the store. Quite a few clerks commented on their "neat" balls.  I thought they were fun and the kids bounced them around the ENTIRE store as we were shopping. So, I bought them for the kids. One has red glitter, one purple and the other black glitter (so they could tell who's was who's, all you mom's know what I'm talking about) I guess I just didn't expect to turn around the corner tonight and see an eyeball staring back at me balanced on the top of a Jedi light Saber. I found myself laughing and just had to share this funny find! Enjoy!

Bear Lake For The Day!

When we arrived at Bear Lake, it was still overcast but, we had checked the forecast and it  was supposed to clear up in the next hour and be a great day at the lake (this picture was taken as we were leaving. Such blue water!). When we arrived at the cousins' campsite the first thing we did was walk down to the waters' edge. We weren't expecting the kids to be wanting to get in the water but, their cousins were playing and they were ready.
Abbie and her daddy collecting sea shells to show me!
So pretty! I love all the seashells Abbie!
The kids helping their cousin Sterling make a waterfall. This definetely started a trend for the day. This would be the first of many.
Reed enjoying the lake. It had rained for four hours that morning before we had arrived. They kept joking we should have come earlier because we brought the sunshine with us!
When the kids started going into the water with their clothes on, we knew it was finally warm enough to go change them into their swimming suits.
Abbie lovin' on her seashells...she collected them all day!
We finally took the kids back to the campsite, had lunch and went down a little ways from the campsite to Rendevous beach and played the rest of the day.
Kids playing at Rendevous Beach!
The kids never tired of building sand castles...I lost count of how many they made, quite a few!
We rented twoWave Runners and spent some time enjoying the lake away from the beach.
I get lifejackets on the kids and take them a ways out to meet their dad on the wave runner. They get to go on their first ride ever on a wave runner....SO EXCITING!  I am quite a ways from the beach and am only up to my chest in the water. I love that part about Rendevous beach...you can let your kids play and not have to worry about drop offs...it goes out forever!
I helped get the kids on the wave runner and then realized my camera was on the beach. I was 200 yards out(and the water was only up to my chest) and it took me almost their entire ride to do water aerobics (running in the water)  back to the beach and get the camera, take their photo when they came back in and then take the kids back to the beach with the camera. Then head back out for Annette and I to ride with our husbands for the last ride of the day! Whew! The men were definetely braver by the time they took us(their wives) out for a ride! We screamed A LOT!!
The only pictures I got of the wave runners was the one time I took my camera out when I went to get the kids after their ride to help them back to shore.
The kids loved the ride but got a little cold with the water spray. They were happy to return to the beach to get warm in the sand.
Reed jumps off first and the kids told me about their crazy ride with their dad. Don't worry kids, he even made me scream when I was riding with him.
Isaac jumps to the front and says, "Come on Kaden, let's drive this thing!" Of course, this made Abbie scream and I was laughing when Reed showed me he had the key!
The kids getting warm in the sand after their wave runner ride.
After the kids got off the wave runners, they got a little chilled in the breeze so they layed down in the sand to get warm and all of a sudden..................
I had SAND MONSTERS coming to get me!! Oh NO!!
You boys are SO funny! Love your fun personalities!
The adults drying off after riding the wave runners.
Another one of their sand castle/ mud puddle.
Uncle Curtis and Aunt Annette posing for a picture with the sailboat in the background...we should have known  Uncle Curtis had something up his sleeve. Too funny!
Needless to say, they both came back drenched!
The kids enjoying the beach!
The kids built sand castles, puddles, waterfalls and other things I never asked what they were. They just kept building and building. They had a great time filling their buckets with water and making the sand muddy! Such fun!
Such a serene picture as I was laying on the beach. I am taking a picture of the seagulls and into the picture frame comes Kaden running after the birds. Too funny! He was chasing the seagulls down the beach. He thought it was SO funny...I'm glad you found humor in it Kaden because I did too!
He thought it was so funny to SHEW them away!
The kids LOVED the sand...and they had it everywhere...they loved getting covered in sand!
They just kept building and building more sand castle, puddles, and waterfalls!

Even after the cousins left for the day (they had been camping since the day before) we stayed and enjoyed the last few hours of sun.
I think this face says it all....we had fun missing a day of school to have a much needed RELAXING day!

We had SO fun at Bear Lake and will definetely come back again!! Great outing with the kids, fun time with family, and a great day to get away from the monotony of daily life. It was fun to shake it up a little bit with all of you and spend the day at the beach!
